Dr. Shamla is a native of Brule, Wisconsin where she attended Northwestern High School. She went on to receive bachelor of science degrees in both Biology and Broadfield Science from the University of Wisconsin-Superior in 1996. As an undergraduate she performed in the UWS Symphonic Band and Chamber Orchestra, as well as many other local music groups. Dr. Shamla received her Doctorate in Veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2000.
Following graduation, Dr. Shamla and her husband, Jon, returned to Superior where she has been employed at Superior Animal Hospital since July 2000. One of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is the bond she forms with clients and their pets. She enjoys treating patients through all of their life stages.
Dr. Shamla ad Jon welcomes their sons, Thomas in August 2003 and Michael in November 2008, and daughter Julia in January 2011. Their home is shared with 2 pets – a black lab mix named Jack and rescue cat named Rhubarb. When not at work, Dr. Shamla enjoys family time and home construction/remodeling projects.
